James Warner, LCSW, CBT

As Director of Clinical Associates, James brings 25 years of experience in psychotherapy in a wide range of services including individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. He has developed treatment programs for patients in both inpatient and follow-up outpatient programs at three hospitals where he was on the Allied Professional Staff (Riveredge, Hinsdale and Linden Oaks). He has served as consultant in and has written peer review formats for the allied staff of two hospitals. He has supervised field placements, internships, taught 4th ear Loyola psychiatric residents, led workshops and public speaking engagements.

 

He has worked closely with allied health professionals with ongoing consultation and referral. He had an ongoing group for 20 years, led an adolescent group for 15 years and co-led intensive weekend workshops with families, adolescents and adult patients. Utilizing an elective approach, therapy is evaluated according to crisis intervention/short term focused, medium range behavioral/affective change or long term relationship, character analysis work. Different modalities are used to deal with each goal, a mixture of psychodynamic, gestalt and bioenergetic approaches. Special interest lays inworking with trauma (EMDR trained), affect management and relationship attachments.
